As part of the 2017 Sanlam Go Dad Run campaign we will be raising awareness of some key men’s health issues, especially in those areas where men are so often reluctant to discuss their symptoms or problems – even with their mates!
That silence can often mean that guys are not getting the help and treatment they need and sometimes that can lead to even bigger problems so we are going to address some of those by working with three fantastic National Charity Partners, as well as our founding partner Prostate Cancer UK.
We are also fundraising with one local charity at each run and have chosen partners who work in the care and support sectors. We are very proud to now be associated with these seven extraordinary local organisations that each do so much incredible work within their communities.
There will be lots more information and news about all our charity partners on our Go Dad Run website and social media throughout the campaign.
We would like to thank all our charity partners and hope that you will want to support them and raise funds through sponsorship when you pull on your big blue Go Dad Run Y’fronts and head off on a Sanlam Go Dad Run 5K or 10K in 2017!
Lead Charity Partner
Prostate Cancer UK remains our Lead Charity Partner in 2017 and their logo will appear on the runner T-shirts and Y’fronts. We are delighted to continue our relationship with them for a fifth consecutive year.
National Charity Partners
Bowel Cancer UK are the UK's leading bowel cancer research charity and they are determined to save lives and improve the quality of life for all those affected by bowel cancer. Bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK and 1 in 14 men will be diagnosed with it during their lifetime. However, it is treatable and curable, especially if diagnosed early.
The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. CALM offers support for men who are down or in crisis and campaigns to change culture so men feel they can seek help.
Orchid exists to save men's lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through pioneering research and promoting awareness. It is the UK's leading charity working in the area of male-specific cancers and provides support to people affected by or interested in these cancers through funding a world-class research programme, awareness and education campaigns and a range of vital support services.
